Technical Programme

The Final Technical Programme is now ready, please follow the link in the yellow left hand box

The backbone of the Faroe Islands Exploration Conference are the presentations, both oral and posters.

The oral presentations will be held in the main conference room at the Nordic house ( www.nlh.fo ) in Tórshavn. Poster presentations will be on display both days of the conference in the main entrance area where coffee and lunch will be served.

Oral presentations will have a length of 20 min and the keynotes will have a length of 45 min, both will have 5 minutes option for questions.


There are four oral sessions, and a poster session for FIEC (posters will be on display throughout the whole conference and should be size A0 (841 x 1189mm or 33.11 x 46.81 inches)).

The overall conference theme is:

 Hydrocarbon Exploration on the Faroese Continental Shelf

but hydrocarbon exploration perspectives and analogues within basaltic provinces other than the North Atlantic Igneous Province will be most welcomed.


Relevant topics include:

- Exploration within basaltic provinces
- Regional geology and tectonic development
- The use of geophysical techniques in hydrocarbon        
  exploration within basaltic provinces
- Sub-basalt geology
